Welcome to iSPI TV - LeighLeigh is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan in Greater Manchester with a population 0f 43,000. Leigh was originally the centre of a large ecclesiastical parish covering six townships, historically a part of Lancashire. In 1875 the three townships of Pennington, Westleigh and Bedford merged forming the Leigh Local Board District and Leigh became the official name for the town. In 1894 the town became an Urban District when part of Atherton was added and in 1899 became a municipal borough. The first Town Hall was built on King Street and replaced by the current building in 1907.
